Gisborne is the name of a unitary authorty (in this case, a region and district) in New Zealand. Besides its reputation as a great region to visit for the holidays, it also boasts being the first city in the world to greet the sun each day, technically however, this probably is not true as both Suva, Fiji and Nuku'alofa, Tonga are closer to the International Date Line. The city, which maintains a rural beauty, has a tight-knit community that welcomes visitors with open arms, and its residents are happy to share the wealth of culture on offer. It also offers a unique laid-back lifestyle with excellent educational training courses and employment in agriculture, horticulture, farming and forestry. Gisborne City has 4 Main high Schools, including Gisborne Boys High, Gisborne Girls High, Lytton High and Campion College.
