George Jackson (MP) Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Sir George Jackson (1725 – 1822), British politician, sat as a Member of Parliament at various times for Weymouth, Melcombe Regis, and Colchester. In addition he was Judge Advocate of the Fleet and was a friend and patron of Lt James Cook (later Captain). Cook named both Point Jackson in New Zealand, and Port Jackson in New South Wales after him.
