George Forrest (born Brooklyn, New York, July 31 1915) is an American writer of musical theatre best known for the show Kismet, adapted from the works of Alexander Borodin.Born George Forrest Chichester, Jr., he was also known professionally at times as Chet Forrest. Throughout his career he worked exclusively with the writer Robert Wright, all their musicals being joint works. Most of their famous works were in fact adaptations of classical music for the musical stage.
