Freeway (Canada) Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
A freeway is a major road highway with multiple lanes in each direction separated by a barrier or strip of land which usually connects one or more cities. In Canada, there does not appear to be a national standard for nomenclature, although freeway appears to be winning out except in Ontario where expressway or 400-Series is used, and in Quebec where they are called autoroutess (borrowing the term from French).
