Fred Ebb (April 8, 1933 - September 11, 2004) was a lyricist for a series of musical theatre successes as part of the songwriting team of Kander and Ebb.

Ebb graduated from New York University and Columbia University. In 1962 he teamed with John Kander to write Flora the Red Menace, produced by Hal Prince, directed by George Abbott, and with book by George Abbott and Robert Russell, in which Liza Minnelli made her Broadway debut. Kander and Ebb wrote material for Minnelli and Chita Rivera, and produced material for their appearances live and on television. Their musicals Cabaret and Chicago have been made into films.

Ebb died after having a heart attack at his home in New York City.
