Fort Niagara Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Fort Niagara is a 300 year old fortification site located near Youngstown, New York on the eastern bank of the Niagara River at its mouth on Lake Ontario. It was constructed during the French regime to protect the interests of New France. The fort played a significant part in the French and Indian War, the American War of Independence and the War of 1812. It has been renovated as now serves as a museum called Old Fort Niagara. The restored fort is the seen of frequent historical recreations of battles on the site from the 18th century.
