Fall of Saigon Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

The Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975 ended the Vietnam War. Foreign journalists covered a massive evacuation of diplomats, foreign nationals, and Vietnamese refugees, supported by Air America.

The Vietcong flag was raised over the presidential palace of the Republic of Vietnam at 12:15 P.M. (12:15 A.M. Wednesday, New York time).

President Duong Van Minh of South Vietnam made a radio announcment "I declare the Saigon government is completely dissolved at all levels."
