Ethiopian calendar Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
The Ethiopian calendar, sometimes knows as the Ethiopic calendar, is one of the calendars used in Ethiopia. It is based on the old Egyptian calendar and therefore shares the same thirteen months as other derivates such as the Coptic calendar, but with different, Amharic, names. It differs from the other Egyptian calendars by having the birth of Jesus Christ as a start date for the years. However, it is seven years (and eight months, because the year starts at September 11) behind the Gregorian Calendar.
