Emerald Bowl Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
The San Francisco Bowl is a major post-season college football bowl game certified by the NCAA that has been played annually at 40,800-seat SBC Park (home of the San Francisco Giants) in San Francisco, California, since 2002. Its official name is the Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl in recognition of the corporate title sponsor, Diamond of California. The game matches teams from the Big East and Mountain West Conferences. Annouced name change to Emerald Bowl in April of 2004.
