Dennis DeYoung (born 18 February 1947) is a pop musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Styx.

Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, DeYoung's career as a vocalist started with the band Tradewinds in 1963. The band renamed itself TW4 in 1968 before becoming Styx in 1970. Within Styx he acted as lead vocalist, keyboardist, and co-writer of many of the band's songs.

On January 18 1970 he married his wife Suzanne. The couple have remained together since, and have two children.

In 1983 DeYoung embarked upon a solo career of modest success. He participated in both the 1990 and 1997 Styx revivals.

Discogaphy

Music written by DeYoung has featured in the films Kilroy Was Here (1983), The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Big Daddy (1999). During 1993 he joined the a touring revival of the stage musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He appeared in about 200 performances across North America, as Pontius Pilate.
