Del.icio.us Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
del.icio.us is a social software web service for sharing web bookmarks. According to del.icio.us/doc/about:- "del.icio.us is a social bookmarks manager. It allows you to easily add sites you like to your personal collection of links, to categorize those sites with keywords, and to share your collection not only between your own browsers and machines, but also with others."
del.icio.us uses a non-hierarchical keyword categorization system, and features a combined-view of everyone's bookmarks with a given tag. For instance, the url http://del.icio.us/tag/wiki displays all of the most recent links tagged "wiki".
There is also the popular page, which provides a snapshot of what URLs are being linked to by the most users.
del.icio.us has a simple HTML interface with human readable URLs, as well as a REST API and RSS feeds for web syndication.
del.icio.us was developed by Joshua Schachter, co-maintainer of Memepool. Use of the service is currently free.
