Copenhagen Airport (Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup in Danish ) located on the island Amager, is the major airport serving Copenhagen, Denmark. The airport is the main hub for Scandinavian Airlines System. Its IATA airport code is CPH, and its ICAO airport code is EKCH. The airport in Malmö (MMX) serves as a secondary airport for Copenhagen. Copenhagen Airport serves about 50,000 passengers per day. 18.3 million passengers passed through the facility in 2002. A station near the airport in the Copenhagen Metro system is planned to be in operation by 2007.Copenhagen Airport was originally called Kastrup Airport and the latter name is sometimes still used since the airport is located in the suburb of Kastrup.
