Codename Eagle is the name of the computer game Codename Eagle (2000) and of Battlefield 1942 port of the orginal game. The port of the multi-player portion was avaible as a mod compatible with version 1.45 of Battlefield 1942. The game was set in a alternate history of WW1 and featured vehicle as well as first person shooter gameplay. The game used the refractor graphics engine, a development of which went on to be used in the hit game Battlefield 1942(2002). The engine was given a more aracde-like feel, as opposed to its previous, more realistic feel. Content included a series of single player missions and a online multiplayer mode with up to 32 players. The Battlefield 1942 port of the game could sustain 64 players.
