The Cocos Plate is an oceanic tectonic plate beneath the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of Central America.The northeasterly side is a convergent boundary subducting under the North American Plate to the north and the South American Plate to the south. The Cocos Plate is bounded to the south by the Nazca Plate and to the west by the Pacific Plate.
