Church of Christ (Mormonism) Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
In Mormonism, the Church of Christ is accepted as the name of the original church established by Jesus Christ in the first century. It was the first name of the original Latter Day Saint church established by Joseph Smith, Jr in 1830. It is believed by modern Saints that this was the church of Jesus Christ restored again to the earth.During Smith, Jr's life the church was referred to by a few names. The church was called "the Church of Christ," "the Church of Jesus Christ," the "Church of the Latter Day Saints," and later its full, formalized title was given as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" to fully reflect the church's identity and distinguish it from Jesus Christ's ancient church. Smaller churches of the movement continue to use variations of the name.
