Carlos Delgado (Gin Cocktail) Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

The Carlos Delgado is a cocktail with gin as its primary ingredient. It was invented at 1020 Amsterdam (a bar in Manhattan) by a young Columbia University student, who signed the cocktail napkin used to compose the recipe in an illegible scrawl. Ostensibly named for the famous baseball player (see Carlos Delgado) for the Toronto Blue Jays, it is a sweet drink with a peculiar bite that has made it the favorite of several regulars.

Preparation

In a traditional soda glass, mix the following:

• Ice
• 1 1/2 oz. gin
• 1 oz. Triple Sec
• 1 oz. sweet vermouth
• Cranberry Juice
• Orange Juice
• Fill remainder of glass (~1 oz.) with club soda.

Stir and enjoy.
