Capricorn Records was launched by Phil Walden in 1969. At first the records were distributed by Atlantic Records, afterwards distribution changed to Warner Bros. The major acts were The Allman Brothers, Liv Ullman and Alex Taylor. Capricorn went out of business in 1980.The label is relaunced as a joint-venture with Mercury Records.
