Brighton Rock is a novel by Graham Greene, first published in 1938, that also has been adapted into a film. It is a thriller set in 1930s Brighton concerning an unlikely heroine, Ida Arnold, seeking to catch and punish a failed gangster Pinkie Brown whilst saving the ingenue Rose who Pinkie has married to keep her quiet.
