Blue Magic is a form of Magic commonly used in later Final Fantasy games. The general 'definition' is magic that is taken from other creatures. The first appearance of Blue Magic in the Final Fantasy games was in Final Fantasy V.

Final Fantasy is infamous for its classes used in every game, even if it is used discreetly.

Final Fantasy V

In Final Fantasy V, the Blue Mage class is available after getting the first crystal (Wind).

Final Fantasy VI

Strago, the old wizard from Thamasa, is able to learn spells when attacked by them, usually from boss attacks. Also, the wildboy Gau could be considered a Blue Mage. He jumps "into" enemies in a battle and returns a few later with some stolen abilities.

Final Fantasy VII

Overdrive attacks are similar to the Super attacks from the later Street Fighter games. In each character's status display is a bar called the Overdrive Meter. When Kimahri absorbs a new attack, the Overdrive meter is filled automatically.

Final Fantasy X-2

By equipping the Gun Mage dressphere, a character is given the ability "Blue Bullet". This ability lets the character learn Blue Magic when they are hit with a learnable enemy technique.
