Berkeley Breathed Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Berkeley ("Berke") Breathed, cartoonist-author of Bloom County, an '80s era cartoon-comic strip which dealt with socio-political issues, as seen through the eyes of highly exaggerated characters, and humorous analogies. He replaced this strip with Outland, which reused some of the characters.

He is now producing Opus, a Sunday-only strip featuring Opus, the penguin who was one of the central characters in Bloom County.

His first regular strip was The Academia Waltz, published daily in The Daily Texan, the student newspaper of the University of Texas at Austin.

Breathed drew the cartoon art in the film Secondhand Lions.
