Athena is a video game for the NES produced and published in 1987 by software developer company SNK.The game's title character would later go on to appear in the game Psycho Soldiers. She along with the character Kensou from Psycho Soldiers would appear as a team in The King of Fighters series, and has appeared in every game in the series so far. She also appeared in Capcom vs SNK 2 and SVC Chaos - SNK Vs. Capcom. In The King of Fighters and Capcom vs SNK 2, she was based off of her appearance in Psycho Soldiers; in SVC Chaos - SNK Vs. Capcom, she was based off of her appearance in her original game.
