Details, Explanation and Meaning About Aslan

Aslan Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Aslan (Turkish: lion) is the allegorical Christ figure in The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis; the lion appears in all seven books of the series. In the course of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Aslan is put to death in the place of a traitor, subsequently resurrected, and makes occasional appearances in the remaining books of the series. He appears as the creator of the land of Narnia in the prequel The Magician's Nephew. Throughout the series it is often repeated that he is "not a tame lion"; although at many times he is very gentle, loving and lovable, he is also powerful.

The books also make reference to an "Emperor over the sea," further highlighting the Christ-like status of Aslan as the Son of God in a near-Christian universe. The "Emperor over the sea" is similar to Eru Ilúvatar of J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, in His separation from His creation. (Tolkien and Lewis were friends and fellow members of The Inklings.)

The Aslan are an alien race from the Traveller roleplaying game universe. The creator of the universe, Marc Miller, coined this term for them as they are a lion-like race of hunter-pouncer ancestry.
