- The United States of America does not currently have nor do they maintain diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba. U.S. Interests in the Republic of Cuba are handled by the U.S. Interests section of the Embassy of Switzerland in Havana.
- The United States of America does not currently have nor do they maintain diplomatic relations with Kingdom of Bhutan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Democratic People's Republic of North Korea and the Republic of the Sudan. Americans who travel to these countries do so at their own risk and in some cases in violation of U.S. and/or U.N sanctions.
