After spells as an evangelical Christian and a member of the Esoteric Section of the Theosophical Society, Alice Bailey founded the Arcane School in 1923. They include the prayer known as “The Great Invocation” which is still used by esoteric groups to this day. She was also a notable astrologer and contributed much to the field during her lifetime, even helping to form a whole new branch of modern astrology termed Esoteric Astrology.Alice Bailey died in 1949.
