Alias Wavefront Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Alias|Wavefront was formed in 1995 when SGI bought Alias Research of Toronto and Wavefront Technologies of Santa Barbara then merged the two companies.Alias manufactures high-end computer graphics software. They are a subsidiary of SGI.
The high end 3D animation package Maya was delivered in 1998 and is now in its 6th version. Other products include the graphic design and 3D modeling package StudioTools, which is used extensively in the automotive industry.
In 2003 Alias|Wavefront changed their name to simply Alias.
The Alias head office is in Toronto.
