Álava (Basque Araba, Spanish Álava) is a province of northern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of the Basque Country. It is bordered by the provinces of Burgos, La Rioja, Navarra, Guipúzcoa;, and Vizcaya. Its capital is Vitoria (Basque Gasteiz).
