Aeonium (Webb & Berthelot, 1840) is a genus of about 35 species of succulent, subtropical plants of the family Crassulaceae. Mainly they live at the Canary Islands, some are to find at Madeira, in Morocco and in eastern Africa (for example in the Semien mountains, Ethiopia).
The rosette-leaves are on a stable stem. Low-growing Aeonium-species are Aeonium tabuliforme and Aeonium smithii, big species are Aeonium valverdense and Aeonium holochrysum.
Aeonium are not frost-resistant. They are linked with Sempervivum, Greenovia, Aichryson and Monanthes, this is to see at their typical flowers.
