Adolfas Mekas Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Adolfas Mekas (1925-), born in Lithuania, came to the United States and started Film Culture magazine with his brother Jonas Mekas in 1954. He directed a number of films including Hallelujah The Hills, a landmark of the New American Cinema. In 1971, Mekas founded the Peoples' Film Department at Bard College, where he continued to teach until retiring in May of 2004.
