20th Century Fox Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Twentieth (20th) Century Fox Film Corporation is one of the Big Ten (movie studios) movie studios, located in the Century City area of Los Angeles, California, just west of Beverly Hills. The studio is a subsidiary of News Corporation, the Australian media conglomerate owned by Rupert Murdoch.The studio has its origins in two separate companies: Fox Film Corporation founded by William Fox in 1915, and Twentieth Century Pictures, formed in 1933 by Darryl F. Zanuck (formerly of Warner Brothers) and Joseph Schenck of United Artists. After William Fox was forced out of his company, new leadership under president Sidney Kent agreed to a merger between the two companies and Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation was formed in 1935. The hyphen was dropped from the studio's name in 1985.
